                                                  “Valentine’s Day….Swim for your Heart”

       On February 14, 2011 an international effort began to make swimming a focus for heart health and awareness of heart disease and its prevention. Maine Medical Center and Goodall Hospital along with the Maine Heart Center and Goodall Occupational Health Center have joined this effort and will provide free blood pressures, free cholesterol screening and provide heart healthy information at many pools in Southern Maine. You are invited to participate on Thursday, February 14, 2013 as either a swimmer or supporter of this event.

WHAT:
When women are asked about what they think their greatest health risk is, they usually respond with: breast cancer,
ovarian cancer, cervical cancer and maybe osteoporosis.  Unfortunately, what they don’t think about is the greatest killer of women: cardiovascular disease. So come join in on Feb. 14th and have a discussion with Dr. Lowell Gerber about your heart!  Topics include issues related to Women’s Health such as Nutrition, Exercise, Hormones, Vitamins and Micro-nutrients.
